In 1987 Marvin R. Wischer (at that time a vice-president at Century Construction) and his wife Karen, did a lot of soul searching to see if they had the means and the determination it would take to start their own electrical company. The decision was not an easy one, but with the support of family and friends, KW Electric was created.
Operating from their home allowed Karen, who handled all of the office work, to be there when their children arrived home from school. The desire to fulfill this need to care for their family resulted in the beginning of a multi divisional company. Marvin & Karen started hiring wonderful employees and giving them the proper training needed to do the best job possible. Their great work speaks for itself, because of their quality reputation they have grown over the years.
In 2000 KW expanded with a Heating & Air division run by Mike Wolking who came from B&B Heating & Air. In 2001 KW grew again by adding a Plumbing division headed by Rich MacKnight who also came from B&B. These expansions allowed KW to broaden its area of work into the residential services as well as the commercial service areas. For a short period KW Electric, Heating & Air, and Plumbing changed their name to KW Group before finally settling on the more industry appropriate name of KW Mechanical in 2005.
KW Mechanical still has many of the same working relationships it had when the company first started in 1987. KW prides itself on being a company that you can trust who will do quality work at a fair price.
